Legal Project Manager
Mr. LaFon is a trial attorney and former active duty United States Marine Corps Judge Advocate (i.e., attorney) of five years’ experience. He was lead counsel on numerous members (jury) trials ranging from simple drug use, to felony level sex crimes. He also led a section of about 15 Marines in managing the post-trial processing for all Marine Corps trials on the west coast of the United States. Using a project management and systemized processes approach, he facilitated the post-trial action on hundreds of cases efficiently and accurately.
While studying at Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law and its Center for Law, Science and Technology, Mr. LaFon was an editor for the American Bar Association journal, Jurimetrics, about Law, Science, and Technology and focused his class studies on the interaction of technology with the practice of law. After graduating with honors in 2010, Mr. LaFon began his active duty service with the United States Marine Corps as a Judge Advocate. Since leaving the active ranks of the Marine Corps, he has continued his training and learning with over 50 hours in the area of project management, specifically focusing on its relation to the practice of law. Matthew considers himself a legal technologist, where he applies both technology and other disciplines to the legal field to affect the highest quality results with the most efficiency.
